Bonus News for Futures Traders The Good Friday Holiday schedule has the cash markets closed for trade date April 7. However, futures markets will be open early. They also close early, but not until after the Employment Situation Reports. A thin market due to the holiday, could make early Friday morning Futures extremely reactive. The old saying is that holiday markets tend to trend. This is generally because with very little volume, there is not much to stop a move once it gets moving. The caveat to that, is that first it must start moving.
