The Eisenhower Executive Office Building sits right next to the West Wing of the White House. And at about 8:00 a.m. this morning, a fire broke out in it, leading to an evacuation. So far, D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services have shared that a defective cooling motor in the basement caused the blaze. Florida Democrats have hailed Sabina Covo, the newly elected commissioner of Miami-Dade County, as the future of their party and the first victory in retaking the state. Covo, however, has never learned the Pledge of Allegiance. Commissioner Covo was asked to lead the Pledge of Allegiance at a County Commission meeting on March 9. Someone on the Commission formally requested, "Commissioner Covo, could you lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance, please?" "You don't know it? Ok," responded the official. Covo, who was unable to be heard in response to the initial question about reciting the Pledge, was asked again by the same official. Stock markets looked ready for a turbulent start on Friday morning. Earlier in the morning, stock index futures suggested that Wall Street might continue to push stocks lower after Thursday's rout. However, futures moved higher after the release of the latest U.S. employment report, which showed that the economy added 311,000 jobs in February. That sent futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average into positive territory, albeit just barely. Yet there were still concerns among investors in many individual stocks. (read more) |

Aranza Maria Ochoa Lopez was 4-years-old when she was kidnapped from a Vancouver, Washington mall on October 25, 2018. Now authorities have announced that she's been found alive in Mexico.
