George Santos has a lot of reasons to laugh and a lot of reasons to cry. He's laughing because he's just pulled off a major heist. One that benefited him and makes the rest of the Republican party look like a bunch of liars, losers, and lunatics. You know, kind of like our counterparts on the other side of the political aisle... And that's why I think that George Santos has got to go. I don't typically make it a habit of agreeing with House Democrats, but this is one of those times when I'm willing to make an exception. Sure, all politicians lie on the campaign trail. But Santos has taken that to the next level. He admitted last month to lying about his heritage, education, and professional background on the campaign trail. And the deeper we dig, the more lies we expose. Here's why this is a lot more than "little white lies" and how it puts our nation in jeopardy... (read more)

Republicans are moving on to the next battle now that the fight for Speaker of the House is done. Ronna McDaniel, the current chair of the Republican National Committee, is campaigning for a second term in office. Many conservatives, though, are calling for a new administration. Alabama and Louisiana Republicans are the newest recruits. Ronna McDaniel's candidacy for reelection as chair of the Republican National Committee faces a growing rebellion among GOP members at the state and local level in the Sunbelt. State parties from Arizona to Florida are passing or mulling votes of no confidence in McDaniel, demanding new leadership after three disastrous elections. And there is little love for Ronna McDaniel among Republican voters. (read more)

The price of gold in futures contracts reached an eight-month high on Wednesday, rising 14% since late November to reach $1,882 per ounce. When interest rates rise, investors frequently gravitate toward investments that provide consistent returns, such as government bonds. As the U.S. Federal Reserve started to raise interest rates in an effort to rein in spiraling inflation, gold prices fell in April of last year. But as consumer price growth slows, the market is increasingly anticipating the Fed to restrain U.S. rate hikes, driving up demand for gold. (read more) |

A video of an altercation on a chairlift at a ski resort recently went viral, but now it's making headlines for other reasons. One of the individuals involved with the fight is now facing criminal charges. While two people were riding on the lift at a Utah ski resort, they noticed an altercation between two other individuals, so they began recording. A man who is sitting at the end of one of the chairs can be heard yelling at a man who is sitting in the middle. "You going to elbow me in my … face?!" the man yells at the victim. Witnesses say they do not recall seeing an elbow thrown, so it is unclear why the man yelling is upset. The video also does not show the man being hit in the face with an elbow. But that didn't stop the man from doing this to the victim, and getting slapped with criminal charges in return. (read more)

Nearly 30 years ago, a now 65-year-old Robert Fratta hired two people to kill his estranged wife, Farah, amid a divorce and custody battle for their three children. Robert Fratta, who was set to be executed on Tuesday of this week, has long since claimed that he had no involvement in what occurred. Fratta's attorneys have asked that the execution be halted, and you won't believe the reason they gave as to why. (read more) |
