| Andy Snyder Founder | "Let all your things have their places; let each part of your business have its time." If there were a singular ingredient in our recipe for success, this would be it. It's an important idea this time of the year. [Alex Finally Reveals His Personal Investments! See Where He's Investing $100K+] Truth is, we're not much of a fan of celebrating the start of a new year. It's not that we have anything against the new guy... it's just that we never quite feel done with the year gone by. It's like we lost an old friend. Time is precious. We've got only so many years. Why waste precious ammo and fireworks celebrating another one gone by? Thinking about it that way, it's not hard to see why Ben Franklin put the adage above near the top of his list of his favorite sayings. Who doesn't want to have the time to get more done or have more fun? Time doesn't wait around. It's a powerful and slippery beast. Each of us is given a finite amount - some more, some less. We can let the beast run amok and see where he goes... or we can wrangle that bastard and control his every move. Our system for creating order in our life is simple. It hinges on our daily planner. We've written about it plenty of times before. Each night, we ponder what we accomplished during the day and write down what we must get done after the sun comes up once again. And, in a nod to Franklin, we give each task its time. We create order out of havoc by carefully planning and measuring what we want to get done and what it will take to get it done. Over the decades we've used our planner, it's paid off handsomely. It's allowed us to become a top-notch investor, writer and entrepreneur... not to mention husband and father. Yes, we even schedule family time. We've taken slack for it. Outsiders think it's crazy to have to set "appointments" for the ones we love. But they're wrong. If we didn't do it, we argue, we'd be giving more order and thought to our business life than our family life. That's a recipe for trouble. For as Franklin begged us to understand, where there is order, there is success. You can download a free copy of our planner by clicking here. Note the times on the sheets. Our day starts at 5 a.m. and ends at 9 p.m. We do our very best work early in the morning. Your times can vary, of course. Just save plenty of room for rest. Eight hours of sleep each night is essential. Another year has gone by. If you're not happy with what you got done in 2022, look at the year ahead as a blessing. It's your chance to reset and reach your goals. Our simple planner and Franklin's fine advice above will help get you there.
