Wide receiver Terrell Owens, who is in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, punched a man over the weekend in Southern California. According to Owens, the fight was solely in self-defense. A video of the Saturday evening altercation has been released. Owens went shopping at a CVS Pharmacy. Upon entering the store, Owens was approached by a customer who claimed to be a San Francisco 49ers fan. While talking, a second customer approached and hurled threats at the 49ers supporter. The customers made their purchases and left the store. Owens thought the issue had subsided. He quickly found out he was wrong. (read more)

Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont, according to Politico, might derail President Joe Biden's efforts to end a rail strike by delaying the Senate vote to force unions to sign onto an administration-brokered compromise between railroad firms and rail unions. Biden urged Congress on Monday to use its authority under the Railway Labor Act to compel unions to comply with the administration's agreement before the December 9 strike deadline, after four of the 12 major rail unions voted to reject it, citing workers' concerns about quality-of-life issues such as paid sick leave. While a law requiring compliance is expected to receive enough Republican support to pass the Senate, any senator might theoretically stall proceedings through objections. (read more)

The availability of the stock market has significantly grown thanks to the growth of zero-commission trading over the past few years. Theoretically, this is advantageous because it allows more Americans to amass considerable wealth. Since traders can now enter and exit equities as much as they like without paying a single commission, it has also led to a significant upswing in short-term trading. But, unfortunately, it's pretty challenging for a short-term trader to profit consistently. Long-term investing has historically been a strategy to increase wealth while also lowering risk, even though it may seem old or even "boring" to the younger generation of fast money traders. So here are some reasons to invest in 2032 instead of 2023. (read more) |

A husband-and-wife team of paranormal investigators claims their Annabelle Raggedy Ann doll is possessed. Their assertion follows CCTV evidence showing it leaving its display cabinet. The doll has previously been seen on CCTV tipping over their ouija board table, according to Lee and Linzi Steer, who run the Museum of Haunted Objects out of their house in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. They think the doll is to blame for their odd illnesses, near-car crashes, and other incidents. One incident landed Linzi in the hospital for a week, and the doctors couldn't figure out what caused it. The Steers decided to keep the doll in a glass display cabinet with a secure hook to avoid any more strange happenings. However, on Halloween night in 2022, their CCTV captured the doll breaking out of her cabinet.

Former Virginia state trooper Austin Lee Edwards, 28, drove more than 2,500 across the country to kidnap a teenage girl that he had been catfishing online. Before doing so, Edwards murdered the girl's family and set fire to their home. Edwards, who is from North Chesterfield, Virginia, met the teenager online and pretended to be someone else. He was then able to obtain her personal information. Police were notified after getting a call for a welfare check after the kidnapped girl was spotted and "appeared distressed." While responding, officers were alerted to a possible fire a few houses away. The grandparents of the girl, Mark Winek and his wife Sharie Winek, along with their daughter and the girl's mother, Brooke Winek were found lying in the front entryway of the home. Here's what happened when police finally caught up to Edwards and the victim. (read more) |
