Shannon Brandt is a 41-year-old man who faces charges of vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of the accident. In court yesterday, he said he just didn't understand the charges. Or why he had to post $50,000 in bail. He objected because he asserted that he wasn't a flight risk. But his explanation seemed pretty shallow when you consider that his drunken actions took a young man's life. "I have a job, a life and a house and things that I don't exactly want to see go by the wayside — family that are very important to me," he said. How high was his blood-alcohol level, and what else do we know about the "political argument" that led to the attack? (read more) |

I've been a long, loud, vocal supporter of Donald Trump. But that doesn't mean I won't call him out when I think he's wrong. And what he had to say on Fox News yesterday was absolutely wrong. "There doesn't have to be a process, as I understand it. You know, there's — different people say different things, but as I understand there doesn't have to be," Trump said. "If you're the president of the United States, you can declassify just by saying it's declassified. Even by thinking about it, because you're sending it to Mar-a-Lago or to wherever you're sending it." And he didn't stop there. He just kept doubling down on it. Here's what else he had to say. It's almost like he's chopping off whatever legal leg he had to stand on... (read more) |

Democrats are particularly anxious as a result of the recent change in the Oregon governor's race from leans Democrat to toss-up. They probably didn't anticipate this race to be close. And as a result, many Democratic strategists are concerned about potential GOP victories in upcoming elections. Do not forget that the House and Senate are not the only things on the line in the midterm elections. Republicans have a chance to advance at the state level as well. As an example, Christine Drazan will be the first Republican governor of Oregon since the 1980s if she succeeds. (read more) |

The Social Security Administration (SSA), which manages the Social Security program for about 70 million Americans, is requesting a budget allocation of $14.8 billion in the planned fiscal year 2023. That is an increase of $1.8 billion, or approximately 14%, from the SSA's budget for the fiscal year 2022. However, the budgeting process has really only just begun with the president's budget proposal. After that, the U.S. Senate and the House of Representatives must review and approve their budgets before combining them into a single document. Naturally, a lot may happen during this time, so what are the chances that Biden's suggested 14% hike for the SSA will be approved? (read more) |

Construction crews in Lakewood, Washington were pouring fresh concrete when their hard work was ruined in the most unexpected way. A Mini Cooper suddenly plowed into the freshly-poured concrete and became stuck. The woman driving the car initially attempted to flee the scene.
As it turns out, the car was stolen. The driver also had her four-year-old son in the vehicle with her when the incident happened. And if driving a car straight through fresh concrete and getting stuck wasn't bizarre enough, what was in the car also raised a few eyebrows.
These are the items the driver threw from her vehicle before she attempted to flee with them and her son. (read more) |

Rajpaul, who had moved to LA to seek a career in the adult film industry, had previously had two similar procedures done before. She died from acute cardiopulmonary dysfunction and intramuscular/intravascular silicone injections. Here's what police say the suspects did after complications occurred during the procedure.
