So, what's the latest in the Mar-a-Lago raid story? Donald Trump filed a lawsuit yesterday with a very specific request. He wants a "special master" to review the documents seized from his Mar-a-Lago estate by the FBI. "Short of returning the seized items to the movant, only a neutral review by a special master can protect the 'great public interest' in preserving 'the confidentiality of conversations that take place in the president's performance of his official duties,'" Trump's attorneys explained. But forget the lawyers. Take a look now at what Donald Trump had to say. (read more) |

The Biden White House reportedly assisted in starting the criminal probe into Trump's handling of papers, according to recently disclosed memos. They did away with Trump's claims of executive privilege, which made it possible for the DOJ to subpoena him. To facilitate the probe into Trump, the Biden White House worked closely with the Justice Department and National Archives. That contradicts the White House's initial claims that it had no prior knowledge of the investigation or raid. Trump responded to the new information on his social media platform. (read more) |

When it comes to criticism, Jim Cramer is a walking spotlight. On the one hand, making losing predictions while delivering investing advice on air every day for years is inevitable. Cramer, however, is the object of a lot of concentrated criticism. For instance, look at his ongoing (though very one-sided) argument with George Noble, who frequently criticizes Cramer. Or, you might read up on the performance of Cramer's Charitable Trust in the Journal of Retirement, which found that "Cramer's portfolio has lagged the S&P 500 total return index both on an overall returns basis and in Sharpe ratio." On April 5, 2022, CNBC.com published an article outlining four real estate investment trusts (REITs) (all of which focused on apartments) that could be solid investments. Here's a review of those picks. (read more) |

Russian paratrooper, Pavel Filatyev, who spent more than a month fighting in southern Ukraine while serving in the Russian military has revealed some gut-wrenching details in a new 141-page memoir. Filatyev was discharged after he got a severe eye infection. "I'm aware of the consequences for disseminating information about my military service, but to conceal it for me means contributing to more losses," Filatyev wrote. He says he arrived at a training camp in Crimea about two weeks before the February 24 invasion of Ukraine and that 40 people had to share a tent that was only equipped with one camp stove. He went on to describe the horrid living conditions and the old weapons he was issued that frequently malfunctioned. Filatyev said at the time of the invasion, everyone's demeanor changed and that many, including officers, weren't very sure of what was occurring. Here's why he has decided to come forward with his story and how he's avoiding jail time in Russia for speaking out against the war. (read more) |
