Rep. Charlie Crist won Florida's Democratic primary for governor on Tuesday, beating state Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried to take on GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis in November.
Crist, who once served as Florida's governor as a Republican, jumped into the race in advance of his St. Petersburg-area congressional seat being altered due to redistricting.
He'll have major obstacles as he attempts to unseat DeSantis, a popular governor with more than $132 million in his campaign war chest and an electoral landscape that favors Republicans.
