Wade collapse  Bill Clark/CQ-Roll Call, Inc via Getty Images The battle over abortion rights has intensified in the wake of the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. [Associated Press / Kevin McGill, Amy Forliti, and Geoff Mulvihill] Abortion access has been already restricted in some states, including South Dakota and Kentucky, with more states enacting bans soon. Some Democratic-led states, including Michigan and Minnesota, moved to expand protection. [ABC News / Katie Kindelan and Mary Kekatos] Thirteen states have so-called trigger laws, which immediately ban abortion post-Roe; however, abortion rights advocates challenged those laws. Louisiana's has been temporarily suspended pending a court ruling. [Reuters / Nate Raymond] Although abortion directly impacts pregnant people, experts also stress the effects on male partners. Twenty percent of men have been involved in an abortion, and young men whose partner had an abortion are four times as likely to graduate college, according to one study. [NPR / Juliana Kim] Meanwhile, many LGBTQ people fear they could lose rights after Justice Clarence Thomas suggested reconsidering cases protecting same-sex marriage and intimacy. [Guardian / Peter-Astrid Kane] G-7 wants to cap Russian oil prices The Group of Seven — an assembly of some of the world's largest economies — proposed a price cap on Russian oil shipments to fight inflation and hinder the Kremlin's war in Ukraine. [Washington Post / Ashley Parker, Matt Viser, and Loveday Morris] Russia's oil revenue has increased despite Western sanctions. Details on the price cap are still forthcoming, but will likely involve forcing Russia to agree to lower prices by using the G-7's collective advantage in transportation networks. [CNN / Kevin Liptak] The West has moved to wean itself off Russian oil and gas. It's unclear if India and China would go along with the plan; Western sanctions mean they're buying discounted oil. [AP] Another issue: The G-7 would have to track Russian oil supply as it flows to countries worldwide — and get both allies and rivals to help them. [Washington Post / Ryan Lenora Brown and Jennifer Hassan] The House committee investigating the January 6 Capitol insurrection will hold an unexpected hearing at 1 pm ET on Tuesday focusing on new evidence. It's unclear what that evidence suggests. [CNBC / Kevin Breuninger] On Monday, the Supreme Court raised new questions about the separation of church and state in a muddy ruling about prayer during football games.
