Radiation Therapy for Bone Metastases
Available for comment until February 10, 2022

The 2016 guidelines from the American Society for Radiation Oncology on bone metastasis provide recommendations on the delivery of radiation therapy for bone metastases. A new systematic review will inform their planned guideline update. The review will address the effectiveness and harms of initial radiation therapy for bone metastases and reirradiation for cases of reoccurring cancer, and whether factors may influence the effectiveness and harms of treatment such as patient characteristics, additional therapies, and how radiation is delivered.
