| | The next leg up needs a catalyst...
Could it be the passing of the infrastructure bill? Or is that already priced in?
There are other factors, of course, but these things are always a bit more complex than they seem...
Even with the bill passing, plenty of focus remains on the debt ceiling, oil prices, and what's happening in the crypto space...
And if that wasn't enough for complexity, the pricing of oil and derivatives at work can muddle things more.
This is where the energy sector is seeing major developments.
Luckily, Dr. Moors has the expertise as well as a way of explaining them to help you profit.

- Buy Now, Square Later - Shares of Square (SQ) were on the move in Monday's pre-market session after it was announced that the company plans to buy pay-it-later company Afterpay. The deal is said to be worth close to $29 billion and will be an all-stock transaction. Square stated that the company's tech would be integrated into its Seller and Cash App services almost immediately. If you've ever gone online to buy a pair of socks and were given the option to pay $2.99 installments over a period of four months, you already know how valuable this acquisition is.
- Disney is Killing It Getting Killed at the Box Office - The figures for Disney's (DIS) latest film Jungle Cruise is shaping up to... not do well. In fact, it's already losing money. The star-studded flick featuring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Emily Blunt is estimated to have only brought in just shy of $35 million in its first weekend with another $30 million from Disney+ Premier Access. This may initially sound decent, however, the budget for the movie was $200 million. Here's a live look at The Rock's reaction:
| | | | - FREEZE! Treasury Department - Treasury Secretary and Monetary Mom Janet Yellen and her friends at the U.S. Treasury will be taking the "extraordinary measures" she mentioned two weeks ago in an effort to conserve cash. Yellen warned Congress that if the debt ceiling wasn't raised that the U.S. government would be at risk of exceeding its borrow limit. This allows the Treasury Department to put a hold on new pension program investments as well as redeem others if needed. Don't worry crypto bulls, she didn't mention you.
- That's Bananas - Dole (DOLE) bananas might be good for you, but investors seem to think otherwise when it comes to their portfolio. Shares of Dole fell by just under 10% in its public debut on Friday. Dole had scaled back its IPO multiple times, decreasing both in share price and total shares offered, but still fell short of expectations. What can you do? All the kids are eating apples these days.

| | | | | HOT SPOTS: What's Going on in Geopolitics
- Qaddafi's Son To Take Back Libya? - After the revolution that overthrew dictator Mu'ammar el-Gaddafi, Libya has not exactly prospered. Warring militias, crime, and corruption have plagued the new political order. However, a new political actor may be poised to unify the country - Seif al-Islam el-Qaddafi, the dictator's second son. He was taken prisoner in the revolution, but has since won around his own guards and may be a contender to be the next president. How would the West react? Probably not well - but China and Russia might welcome it.
- YouTube Bars Sky News Australia - Social media giant YouTube banned Sky News Australia for one week for supposedly spreading misinformation about the pandemic. "We have clear and established Covid-19 medical misinformation policies," the company stated, adding that it was committed to preventing the "spread of Covid-19 misinformation that could cause real-world harm."
- Protests In Europe - While the United States and the rest of the English-speaking world is moving towards more restrictions, governments in Europe are facing street violence. Three thousand security personnel guarded the French capital for a third weekend of protests. Thousands protested in various Italian cities. After thousands protested in Berlin, 600 people were detained.

- Pressure Drop On Space Station Module - Russia's Roscosmos space agency reported that pressure in a Russian service module on the International Space Station had dropped. An air leak is to blame, but was reportedly "expected" and not linked to the research module. Meetings were held over the weekend to decide what to do, as the module is supposed to last until 2028.
- The Coal-Solar Circle Of Life - China's vast coal reserves and cheap power have given the country a competitive advantage in producing solar panels. According to a new Wall Street Journal article, producing a solar panel in China creates about twice as much carbon dioxide as producing it in Europe. Thus, efforts to move towards solar power are having the unintended effect of generating more reliance on coal. From the global standpoint of reducing emissions, the entire enterprise may be completely pointless.
- High-Res Monkey Brain Could Unlock Neurological Secrets - The first high-resolution, 3-D image of a monkey brain has been created by Chinese scientists. A monkey brain is (obviously) the closest to a human brain in complexity. The 3-D map could be used to reveal neurological behavior that might also apply to humans.
| | | | | | Not looking forward to my brain being hacked | | | | FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION "[A] new generation of derivatives have arisen because of more vexing arbitrage problems at expiration. This paper has simply increased the likelihood of volatility induced by the attempt to generate artificial value in the spread between the futures and the underlying oil itself."
Veteran energy expert Dr. Kent Moors points out the possibility of a growing difference in prices between those used in futures contracts and the prices used in physical trade. It could be a little too early to jump in though...
This is strictly pattern based, so positive news could send the stock back to where it previously was, but entry here would require some scaling in judging by the market's previous reactions to earnings (white, downward arrow).
However, a quick look shows us that BSQR bounced from the 200-day simple moving average (green) and is holding reasonably well.
I'd still watch for entry below $3.00 looking back towards the previous gap close to ~$2.75.
From there, it's likely a waiting game for a double-bagger or more.
