Thank you to all of you who answered our survey as we approach the one-year anniversary of our sweet book club. We've heard your thoughts, and we'll be making a few little tweaks to the way we do things around here.
For one thing: Fewer emails! We'll be bringing this newsletter down to more of a twice-monthly cadence instead of once a week.
For another thing: We're going to be experimenting with announcing each month's book pick a few weeks early in these newsletters so you have plenty of time to buy the book or borrow it from the library. And with that in mind, let's look ahead to April ...
COMING UP IN APRIL
Our April book pick will be The Death of Vivek Oji by Akwaeke Emezi. This rich and lovely novel begins when a mother in southeastern Nigeria opens her door one day to find her son's dead body lying at her feet. Moving back and forth through time, we track Vivek through his troubled childhood — marked by seizures and homophobic bullying — and his family's fractured trajectory after his death. There's a lot to go into here, and I'm excited to talk with you all about it. Look for more details soon.
COMING UP NEXT WEEK
Thursday, March 25: Join us for our virtual live event with Power author Naomi Alderman at noon ET. Reader questions are encouraged, and you can RSVP here.

And in the wake of the Atlanta shooting, I collected recommendations from experts of books to read to understand anti-Asian racism in America.
