Hey all,

Mark here. Here's what we have in store for this week...

WHAT I'M WRITING ABOUT

The Balance of Perseverance with Letting Go

As a retired Navy SEAL commander, I’ve always championed the mantra “never quit” and the importance of grit. But there are pivotal moments in life when we face a fork in the road—do we continue straight ahead, or do we take a left or right detour? The key is knowing when to lean in and when to pivot.

Often, a commitment that was once aligned with our purpose, passion, or principles may begin to feel out of sync. It’s crucial to evaluate these moments through the Unbeatable Mind test. Ask yourself: Is this commitment still serving my mission? Am I growing or merely grinding?
Run your choices through the 5 Mountain Plan: Mind, Body, Emotions, Intuition, and Purpose. If the path still resonates across all five mountains, persevere with grit. But if you sense misalignment, it may be time to pivot. Remember, quitting doesn’t mean failure; it can signify growth and the courage to reassess your journey.

The most strategic choice in life may not always be the hardest. Sometimes, it’s about having the wisdom to recognize when to change course and ensure you stay aligned with your ultimate mission. Embrace the journey and trust your heart, head, and gut, aka your wisdom body.

Success is not final, failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts. — Winston Churchill

WHAT'S INSPIRING ME

Recently, I attended a training that awakened something profound within me. It pushed me to embrace vulnerability, and I am beginning to share stories from my life that I previously held back. These experiences have shaped me, and I believe that revealing them will deepen my connection with you and others and also deepen my personal growth.

PRACTICE OR HABIT TO TRY

The Daily Debate: This week, engage in a practice of a daily debate to enhance your critical thinking skills. Pick three days where you choose a controversial topic—anything from technology to social issues. Spend 10 minutes researching both sides of the argument, gathering facts, opinions, and evidence.

Then, find a willing friend or family member to discuss the topic with. Present your arguments for one side and ask them to counter your points. Switch roles after 5 minutes. This dynamic exchange will challenge you to think independently and consider perspectives outside your own. To deepen the exercise, reflect on what you learned and how your views might have changed after each debate. If you commit to this practice by the end of the week, you’ll have sharpened your analytical skills and expanded your viewpoints.
