Hezbollah says its leader Nasrallah was killed in Beirut airstrike

The Hezbollah militant group confirmed in a statement Saturday its leader Hassan Nasrallah was killed in Friday's Israeli airstrike in Beirut. The statement came a few hours after Israel announced that it had killed the Hezbollah chief.

His death is a devastating blow to the Iran-backed Shiite militia that has long tormented Israel, and is likely to spike regional tensions.
