A pair of Democrats hailing from groups that have strongly backed Joe Biden — the Congressional Black Caucus and Congressional Hispanic Caucus — have joined calls for the president to drop out of the race on Friday. Reps. Marc Veasey (D-Texas) and Chuy Garcia (D-Ill.) joined a group of four Democrats in a joint statement that says the party has a "bench of young leaders," naming Vice President Kamala Harris specifically. The Black Caucus and Hispanic Caucus signify some of Biden's most loyal backers in Congress. Reps. Jared Huffman (D-Calif.) and Mark Pocan (D-Wis.) were the other signers on the letter, both of whom are vocal members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, along with Garcia.
