I see one major mistake that companies keep repeating that is responsible for countless corporate failures. This mistake is to develop products, services and solutions based on something other than customer needs. Most people think of external customers only when they think of customer needs.

BSP policy rate to stay untouched at 6.25%, analysts say 


Market analysts agree that the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) will keep its benchmark interest rate unchanged at a 16-year-high of 6.25 percent for the third consecutive policy meeting on Aug. 17, but diverge on whether tightening is done or rate cuts are coming.

Experts predict reversal of stock market downtrend 

 

Stock market experts are raising the likelihood of a rally at the Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) over the next 12 months due to attractive valuations coupled with favorable technical indicators. A recent report by First Metro Securities Brokerage and Singapore's DBS Bank increased its year-end 2023 "base case" for the PSEi to 6,850, with a further upside target of 7,400 as relatively inexpensive market valuations "are becoming hard to ignore".

Palace orders further study on Landbank-DBP merger


The planned merger of Land Bank of the Philippines and Development Bank of the Philippines may be facing more hurdles than anticipated as Malacañang asked the overseer of state-run firms to study the proposal some more. In a memorandum dated July 26, Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin said the Office of the President (OP) was deferring action on a request of the Governance Commission for Government-owned and Controlled Corporations (GCG) for the issuance of an executive order that approves the Landbank-DBP merger, with Landbank as the surviving entity.
