"$5,500"

The cost of reserving a mat at a Hamptons gym, apparently. That's quite the HIIT.

Eyes On

A Summer of Triumphs

The Story

Women are taking the summer by storm.

I'm all about this era.

You're not the only one. This summer, female artists and athletes have been at the forefront of a cultural revival. Beyoncé and Taylor Swift are lifting up local economies with sold-out shows. Greta Gerwig's "Barbie" is still dominating the box office — thanks in part to a marketing phenomenon. The Women's World Cup is displaying an elite standard of play that's making the game more competitive. But that's not all. Simone Biles came back beaming — proving that putting your mental health first isn't a barrier to success. Plus, the ladies of hip-hop are finally getting to share their stories. All of these triumphs are having ripple effects.

Go on.

Not only are these female artists and athletes showing that they're an economic force, but they're also creating community. Look at the images of people dressed in head-to-toe pink, the friendship bracelets, and packed sports stadiums. Worth noting that it's not just women who are participating in these events. While it all comes against a backdrop of ongoing misogyny and the battle for reproductive rights, it's clear that many are using this seemingly monocultural moment to embrace female empowerment.

What's Happening

✨ In self-care…

Rollerblading is putting a new spin on the hot girl walk. That's as one study is walking back on the popular '10,000 steps a day' mantra. And turns out, being in a hurry can actually be good for your health. Yes, really.

📱 In your feed…

Craving s'more food merch? Get a kick out of these. Or, hold out for some deals on Amazon's second Prime Day. Meanwhile, a rumored Dunkin' drink is spiking more than just your energy. This as some restaurants are mixing up happy hour with midweek DJs.

💄 In beauty…

Gen Alpha's helping us, well, brush up on makeup and skin care. Odds are, they're one step ahead on the honey lips trend. Plus, looking for a new 'do? Then, perhaps the fox cut is for you.

Sunday Scaries, Who?

Pour one out for the weekend...and use it for art. Enter: Bottle art. This DIY project trending on TikTok transforms your empty bottles into home decor pieces — and gives you a smashing time in the process. Trust us, after this, you won't have any bottled up feelings for the week ahead. Here's how to get started...

  • Grab your supplies. You may already have half the supplies at home. All you need is an empty glass bottle (last night's bottle of wine works), a frame, hammer, and resin. Oh, and for safety, grab a towel. And maybe some protective eye glasses for an extra layer of precaution.

  • Start smashing. Lay your frame flat and place your empty bottle on top of it. Cover it with a towel, grab your hammer, and (carefully) take a couple (or more) whacks. Once the bottle is broken, pour your resin over the shards to keep them in place. Let it sit for about 48 hours — and voilà, you have a masterpiece.

  • Get creative. You don't have to break the bottle. Spice up your next hostess gift with a glitter wine bottle. Or, transform your empty bottle into a vase with some paint. For a more farmhouse look, wrap it up with some twine.
