Nelli Parisenkova was a teacher at the Bright Horizons Children's Center in Studio City for four years. But her career in caring for children under the age of five came to an end when she refused to read books to children featuring same-sex couples. So refused on the grounds of her own religious liberty. It all happened in April when, "... Katy Callas, who serves as director of the location, learned of Parisenkova's religious objections to the material, refused her request for a religious accommodation and ultimately created a hostile work environment that led to her termination, according to the complaint." Both President Biden and Jill Biden are huge Eagles fans. But that wasn't enough to save the First Lady from getting booed when she took the field at an Eagles game yesterday. She was there to promote the White House's cancer initiatives. And it's unfortunate that in booing her, the fans were also booing cancer survivors. Doctors in Italy are sharing the bizarre details of a recent nine-hour brain surgery. During the procedure, the patient, a 35-year-old male identified only as G.Z., was awake as doctors removed a tumor from his brain. The process is known as "awake surgery" and helps benefit the patient's outcome and quality of life post-procedure. "The goal of awake surgery is to remove the brain tumor or a vascular malformation such as cavernomas located in specific areas of the brain, while preserving the patient's quality of life," said Dr. Christian Brogna, the surgery team lead. Twenty-five-year old Angelica Carrasquillo-Torres, a fifth-grade teacher at St. Stanislaus School in East Chicago, was taken into custody on Thursday. Carrasquillo-Torres reportedly admitted to having a kill list of staff and students. This shocking development came to light after a student came forward to report the teacher to other staff members a day before. The student, Portia Jones, said she reported the teacher because "she said that she wanted to kill her middle school friends, her high school friends, and half of her family." That student's father has spoken out about the incident along with other parents who are rightfully outraged about how the school handled the situation.
