Dr. Dunaif is system chief of the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Bone disease for the Mount Sinai Health System and the Lilian and Henry M. Stratton Professor of Molecular Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York, NY. She is an internationally recognized expert in endocrinology and women's health, and her research on polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) has shown that it is a leading risk factor for type 2 diabetes. More recently, she has made major advances in research on the genetic causes of PCOS, as well as in research on markers of PCOS risk in children and male relatives.
