According to recent reports, the Paycheck Protection Program, which was designed to help small businesses survive the pandemic by providing loans to help them keep staff, has become a gold mine for businesses affiliated with the affluent and famous. Media agencies have been researching the loans on the website ProPublica to determine how many wealthy beneficiaries will never have to pay a penny back. For example, Paul Pelosi, the husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, owns stock in EDI Associates. The federal government provided loans totaling more than $1.7 million to the restaurant business during the pandemic. These loans will not need to be returned. After the couple grabbed dinner at a restaurant, they went to get back in their car when Mims said she discovered a napkin on the door. She says she then picked it up to throw it away, not thinking too much of it. She says she then went back into the restaurant to wash her hands, but that her fingers began to tingle and after "maybe five minutes" her whole arm was tingling and felt numb. Mims revealed that she suddenly couldn't breathe well, started getting hot flashes and that her heart was beating really fast. She was taken to the hospital where doctors ran numerous tests on her as well as a CAT scan. Here's what the results revealed and what she says that the doctors told her about the incident.
