It's safe to say that former President Trump probably wasn't thrilled with how everything went down in Georgia last night. While I'm sure he's thrilled that Herschel Walker is projected to win the Republican nomination for a Senate seat, his picks for Governor and Secretary of State didn't fare so well. Incumbent Governor Brian Kemp won by a large margin, and U.S. Rep. Jody Hice was unable to beat Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger. But there were a lot more than three races to be won last night, and there were other states than Georgia that were voting. Take a look at the full lineup of winners and losers in last night's elections in Georgia, Alabama, Arkansas, and Texas. (read more) |

Brad Raffensperger defeated former Congressman and President Trump backed US Representative Jody Hice in the Georgia Republican primary Friday night. Raffensperger was able to win after that he received a record amount of absentee ballots and early voting totals. Raffensperger became one of the most despised Republican lawmakers in the country in 2020 after ignoring evidence of electoral fraud and corruption in his state. Trump supporters are understandably worried about this win, especially after what happened in the 2020 election. The GOP needs to come up with a solid and unified plan when it comes to the direction it wants to go. Wins like this one will eventually splinter the party. (read more) |

Stock splits have gained appeal in the market during the previous few years. A corporation splits its stock for one of two reasons: the stock price has gotten too high, creating a barrier to entry for potential investors, or the company wants to increase liquidity in its shares. A stock split, of course, has no impact on a company's market capitalization. However, it lowers the value of each individual share, making it easier for the stock price to multiply and deliver substantial rewards to investors. A lower share price also increases volume, which boosts overall share movement. (read more) |

An underwater volcano in the Solomon Islands, previously dubbed a sharkcano after a 2015 expedition uncovered that sharks lived within it, is active again. This month, the volcano erupted, and NASA has new satellite images that reveal a large plume of discolored water. Residents of nearby islands say they frequently see steam and ash near the volcano because it is in a near constant state of eruption. Two species of sharks have learned to live with those harsh conditions, while simultaneously adapting and mutating to survive them. While the erupting volcano thankfully doesn't send sharks flying through the sky, discovering how they live inside the active underwater volcano is just as exciting. (read more) |
