BREAKING NEWS BRIEF
Image Source: Pixabay A routine traffic stop ended with a 31-year-old Florida man drowning in his own above-ground pool, police say.
Over the weekend, Palm Bay officers tried to pull over the man, whose name has not been released, when he abandoned his vehicle and apparently ran home.
Eventually, officials found the man dead in his backyard pool. His body was stuck between the wall and the stairs. Authorities believe he was hiding from them and may have drowned as he waited for the perceived threat to pass.
"His head was above water," a spokesperson for the police department said. "He may have panicked… we really don't know at this point."

BUSINESS AND MARKETS
Consumer prices just posted their largest one-month jump in nearly 13 years, a fact that might tempt some to conclude that a white-hot U.S. economy is on the brink of runaway inflation.
But a spike in the June 2021 consumer price index reading may, in fact, be little cause for alarm.
TIRED OF OFFICE POLITICS?
Image Source: Global News Donald Trump's last days in office were supposedly a lot worse than originally thought. According to new books that were released this week that detail the former President's last days in the White House, Trump displayed some pretty offensive behavior behind the scenes.
January of this year before Trump left office was defined as complete chaos by those who worked with Trump or had inside information. In one incident, Trump reportedly got in a shouting match with chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley regarding the White House's response to the many Black Lives Matter protests that turned destructive across the country.
In a more shocking incident, Trump was said to have called for the execution of whoever happened to leak that the President was taken to the White House bunker when Black Lives Matter protests took to the streets of Washington after George Floyd's death.
What other stunning details about Trump's last days as President do the new books reveal?
LEARNING FROM THE PAST
The capture of Jerusalem was the primary goal of the First Crusade, a military campaign organized by western rulers, the Pope, and the Byzantine Empire.
The First Crusade was conceived by Pope Urban II following an appeal from the Byzantine emperor Alexios I Komnenos, who wanted to fight back against the expanding Muslim Seljuk Turks who had robbed Byzantium of a good portion of Asia Minor.
The fact that Jerusalem, the holiest city in Christendom, had also fallen, proved a great motivator for knights to travel from all over Europe and try to retake it — and after a short siege, the city was captured on July 15, 1099 CE. But the defense of the Holy City would require more crusades over the coming years, and none would be as successful as the first.

MIND OVER MATTER
Image Source: Lucky Business How much time do you and your partner actually spend doing things just for fun? Although your pandemic and post-pandemic life can seem to squeeze the silliness out of your relationship, do you still find ways to share moments of laughter?
The quality of playfulness is relatively understudied in psychology as an attribute of adult personality or relationships. Yet, the well-known psychologist Erik Erikson gave initiative, or the ability to engage in imaginative play, a central place in his lifespan model of personality.
Emerging in the preschool years, the initiative allows the child to explore new activities just for fun. As the individual develops, imagination retains its role in personality, theoretically allowing adults to take a creative approach to life.
