The word "founder" means both "person who establishes an institution" and "to fill with water and sink." In previous jobs, I have worked with company leaders who have managed to do both to the same company. Our news is full of Bezos's, Bransons, Musks, and Zucks, but whichever one wins their race to create the first off-planet tax haven, we'll all lose.
So, instead, let's learn from the people who are trying to do things differently. The founders for whom success includes doing right by their community, our environment, their team, and their customers. People who have a mission and a purpose beyond growth-at-all-costs. That's why we're launching "In The Works," a brand new monthly publication for mission-driven small businesses and founders who want to stay true to their values. If you are a founder, or if you think you might want to be, subscribe now and we will let you know as soon as it launches. Founders of all types set the early standard for customer service, both directly in their customer interactions and indirectly through their priorities and the company culture they shape.
We've got advice for SaaS founders on delivering great service this week, and our free Foundations of Great Service course will set any founder on the right path to a customer-centric business. |
