The Colonial Pipeline is restarting the critical gasoline delivery line to the East Coast on Wednesday evening after its shutdown from a cyber attack on Friday, the company said.
That resumption of shipments comes after rising panic buying across the Southeast left many retail gas stations dry on Wednesday, and its restart could alleviate the rising political and economic threat from the disruption to the crucial energy artery.
Colonial Pipeline said it will take several days for deliveries to return to normal, and some areas could service interruptions during the start-up period.
