Introducing the latest endorsed CPD: Grief and Loss in Late Life - Introduction Grief is a normal part of life. However, in late life, it is often experienced more frequently. Because of this, it can be difficult to recognise and differentiate grief from other life factors and adjustments. Understanding that emotional symptoms that are present during times of grief, can also be symptoms of depression, complicated grief or other mental health conditions is critically important. This workshop, offered by Wise Care, will upskill participants in recognising grief and loss, as well as other common mental health conditions experienced by elders. You will learn the impact of grief in late life and uncover practical strategies to help older adults affected by grief and loss. Importantly, you will learn terminology when interacting with clients and learn how to draw on the strengths of clients through their experience of grief. Due to COVID restrictions, as well as the busy lives many ACWA members lead, juggling work and life balance, the workshop is delivered online in a self-paced format. Participants will have unlimited access to the course content (six lessons) and resources. Learning objectives - Differentiate key terminology when discussing grief and loss
- Discuss the impact of grief and loss in late life on an older person
