Hi there. Top police officials suspended over POGO extortion claim

The 10-day "administrative relief" of the heads of the National Capital Region Police Office and the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group is in aid of a probe into claims their men tried to extort money from foreigners allegedly operating a scam hub in Manila.

Former police official Eduardo Acierto, a witness in the International Criminal Court investigation of the Duterte drug war, said a P50-million bounty was placed on his head after he linked two Chinese friends of the ex-leader to the drug trade.

The Philippine Coast Guard is getting a much needed boost — 40 fast patrol craft from France under a $438 million aid project that would quadruple its fleet of vessels, plus five coast guard patrol ships from Japan and four other locally-built vessels.

The polls got it wrong — again: For the third time in a row, opinion polls underestimated the level of Donald Trump's support among US voters, predicting a neck-and-neck race with Kamala Harris when in the end Trump edged Harris across battleground states.

So what went wrong for Kamala? Economy, immigration, incumbency: These are the key headwinds that contributed to why the US Vice President failed to block Donald Trump from reclaiming the White House, according to experts.

Cheers to surge pricing which is merely supply and demand at play

I was standing in front of a long line at the passenger terminal in downtown Tacloban, Leyte, eagerly awaiting my turn to be accommodated by a van en-route to my hometown for Undas, when the dispatcher suddenly announced a price increase for the next van: from the usual P70 to P100. It's a steep increase but only for those willing to pay for it.
