Could you have diabetes and not know it? About 1 in 5 American adults with diabetes are unaware that they have it. Join us today in observing Diabetes Alert Day, a one-day "wake-up call" that focuses on the seriousness of diabetes and understanding your risk.

We encourage you to find out if you—or someone you love—are at risk for type 2 diabetes by taking a quick and simple Diabetes Risk Test. You can also use our Diabetes Risk Management Calculator to help you begin planning to prevent type 2 diabetes.

Lose weight and keep it off. You may be able to prevent or delay diabetes by losing 5% to 7% of your starting weight.

Move more. Get at least 30 minutes of physical activity 5 days a week. Start slowly to build up to your goal.
