According to his mother, who was waiting for him at his stop, a 5-year-old Texas kindergartener sent off on the bus for his first day of school did not return home that afternoon. CJ Penn's first day of kindergarten was spent at Faldyn Elementary in Katy, Texas. When the bus arrived at his stop at about 3:18 p.m. to pick him up at the end of the day, his mother, Nadine Penn, greeted him but was disappointed to find her son was not on board. Nadine claimed that while hurrying to her child's school, she was in a panic. They were told that additional buses had to make multiple trips due to student overload. The parents were instructed to return to the bus stops and wait for their children. More than an hour after her son was supposed to be dropped off, Penn said she received a call from CJ's teacher at around 4:30 p.m. reporting that a random family brought him back to school. According to a spiritual leader in Iran, there are over 75,000 mosques in Iran. Of those, a shocking 50,000 have shut down. Ironically, that computes to 66.6%. Coincidence? Maybe, but it could mean something else is going in. Are Iranians abandoning religion altogether, or are all of these closed mosques a sign that Christianity is taking root in Iran in unexpected ways? (read more) |

West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin (D) fueled rumors about a future third-party presidential bid with statements he made to radio talk show host John Catsimatidis on Sunday morning. Manchin's bid might be supported by the No Labels organization, which has been advocating a potential "unity ticket" in 2024 consisting of one candidate from each party for the presidential and vice presidential positions. Manchin, for his part, declined to exclude the possibility of a No Labels ticket. On the surface, it appears that a third-party candidacy may make exceptionally substantial inroads into the American electorate. Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump, who currently has a commanding lead in Republican primary surveys, is seen unfavorably by a fairly comparable percentage. Third parties struggled to develop a substantial footing even in 2016, when both Trump and Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton had poor favorability ratings leading into the presidential election contests. But have things finally changed enough for a viable third-party run? (read more) | |

Macroeconomic challenges caused the Nasdaq Composite index to decline by nearly 33% in 2022. Consumers withdrew in response to inflation increases, which also resulted in ongoing quarterly earnings decreases for a considerable number of businesses. Despite the difficulties, the last year was one of the ideal times to add to your portfolio because the shares of many of the most valuable firms in the world were effectively discounted. Those who made investments during the sell-off will have benefited from the Nasdaq Composite index's nearly 30% increase since 2023's beginning. To maximize your holdings, it's a good idea to become familiar with some of the greatest stocks to purchase in the event of a market slump. (read more) |

An unidentified man was killed last week shortly after he was fired from his job at a tattoo shop in Texas. According to officials, the employee was fired by Javier "Big Dawg" Arredondo, the owner of the shop that also worked as a tattoo artist. Arredondo says the unidentified man was fired from the shop the week prior due to an "incident." The man was reportedly at the shop at the time of his death to collect his last paycheck. According to authorities, there was a dispute over the victim's final check. The dispute escalated into a heated argument, and Arredondo asked the former employee to leave. When he wouldn't comply, Arredondo asked everyone else in the shop to leave. As people began to file out of the shop, they noticed the former employee becoming upset and aggressive. Witnesses say they barely left the shop before they heard three gunshots. Here's what happened next, and why Arredondo is now facing murder charges. (read more) |
