Dr. Wessells is a professor in the Department of Urology at the University of Washington School of Medicine. His current research looks into genetic susceptibility to ED and urological complications of diabetes. He is steering committee chair of the NIDDK-sponsored Urinary Stone Disease Research Network. He is also a member of the NIDDK Strategic Planning Work Group.
