Nikola Corp, a manufacturer of electric trucks, is weighing its options to prevent the delisting of the company's shares from the Nasdaq. To meet minimum bid price requirements within a specified time frame, CEO Michael Lohscheller has suggested a reverse stock split. On Thursday, Nikola stock cost around 57 cents at the market's close. The firm is losing money rapidly, spending a lot of money, and seeing little demand for its battery-powered trucks. The Nasdaq notified it last week that it will be delisted. If a stock fails to trade above $1 for 30 consecutive business days, Nasdaq will send a notification to the company before delisting it. The liberal media are outraged at a spoof account that makes fun of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D., N.Y.). It appears that journalists share Ocasio-Cortez's fear that the account is disseminating "disinformation" and bullying the progressive representative after receiving a boost from Twitter owner Elon Musk. The media isn't investigating why the obviously fake account can fool so many people. That's because the real Ocasio-Cortez has engaged in Twitter tiffs of a juvenile nature with Musk and has been accused of spreading her own misinformation. (read more) | |

The Roth 401(k) has been an excellent retirement savings option ever since it first became accessible in 2006 for employees. It enables you to put after-tax money into an account that grows tax-deferred immediately from your paycheck. You can withdraw all your funds from a Roth 401(k) tax-free once you've reached the age of 59 1/2 and have financed it for at least five years. The Roth 401(k) is enticing to savers because of automatic investment, tax-free withdrawals, and a high yearly cap (in 2023, it will be $22,500 for those under 50 and $30,000 for those over 50). However, a Roth 401(k) has historically had a significant drawback: retirement. As a result, required minimum distributions (RMDs), which mandate you to withdraw funds from that tax-advantaged plan once you reach a certain age, have historically applied to Roth 401(k)s. Thankfully, that need will soon be eliminated. After 2024, Roth 401(k) plans will no longer be subject to RMDs during the lifetime of the original account owner. So your Roth 401(k) is poised to become a much better retirement plan due to that regulation change. (read more) |

Employees at Kroger have been complaining about short paychecks due to payroll errors for months. It seems there is also an issue with their bonus checks. When local bakery managers were first included in Kroger's store incentive program in March, roughly 50 received inaccurate bonus amounts. Approximately 800 department heads at 110 Kroger shops in Greater Cincinnati received wage increases due to the initiative. Unfortunately, the bakery managers were the only ones who received the wrong bonus amounts. As a result, the employer asked that the employees repay the money. The bonus problem follows a series of payroll mistakes that led to hundreds of union grievances and four lawsuits filed on behalf of Kroger employees in five states. (read more) |

On Thursday, President Joe Biden was appearing at the U.S. Air Force Academy's commencement ceremony in Colorado when he tripped and fell on stage. Video of the accident shows Biden falling to the ground with his arms braced for impact after appearing to clip his foot on something. Aids quickly rushed over to help the 80-year-old president to his feet, and he took his seat shortly afterwards. White House communications director Ben LaBolt addressed the issue on Twitter, saying Biden tripped on a sandbag while he was shaking hands on stage but that he's doing fine now. (read more) |
