Fox News seems to have collapsed its own audience with the decision to fire primetime star Tucker Carlson, if the ratings are any indication. Mediaite reports that approximately 1.48 million people watched Fox's 8 p.m. programming on Tuesday, the network's first Tuesday airing since Carlson's dismissal. In comparison, Fox's "Tucker Carlson Tonight" averaged 3 million viewers, or more than twice as many. The massive hole in Fox's viewership was noted even by former progressive media anchor Brian Stelter. (read more) | |

Megan Simpkins is a senior at Martin Luther King High School in Riverside, California. Now she's making headlines after slamming her school in a speech for allowing a biologically male student to use the women's locker room. "There was an incident within our district that occurred recently regarding a transgender woman, who really is a biological man, having an altercation with a young woman at MLK High School. It was infuriating when I had seen the video on social media, but what was detrimental to this is the fact that this man is and has been using the women's restroom and locker room." "Why don't we ever get a say in whether or not we are comfortable with this?" Simpkins then asked. "The truth is we aren't, the majority of us aren't, and yet nothing has been done to protect the safety of these women. I will conclude with this it all starts with you. You are in charge of the safety of us women." Simpkins was referring to a viral video of an altercation that took place at the school showing a transgender student with "erratic and uncomfortable behavior" assaulting a female. Here's what else Simpkins had to say about the ordeal and what will happen to the student who assaulted someone. (read more) |
