A U.S. Senate staffer suffered potential brain bleeding and a punctured lung in a stabbing attack Saturday. The affidavit claims that Glynn Neal attacked and stabbed Phil Todd while he was leaving a restaurant in northeast Washington, D.C. According to a statement released by Republican Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky, the victim is a member of his staff. Todd's statement to police indicated the stabbing was random in nature, with Todd saying the suspect did not say anything to him or demand anything before the alleged attack. Police described it as a "random, violent attack." According to the report, the knife "penetrated the skull and likely caused an internal brain bleed" when Todd was stabbed on the left side of his head. Todd also suffered another deep stab wound to the left of his torso that punctured his lung. Neal faces a charge of assault with an attempt to kill. The court docket also indicated Neal had recently completed serving a 12-year jail sentence for a different felony case in D.C. (learn more)

Try to remember all of the way back to 2012 and think of something you could buy for $15.00. To buy it today practically anywhere in America, you'd now need $20.00 to take it home with you. That's how much inflation has risen. Wages, well, not so much. That's why a growing number of U.S. states are now looking to boost their minimum wage to $20 in a bet that inflation isn't going anywhere anytime soon. These are the three states pushing the hardest to make it happen. And as you read about it, keep in mind that the federal minimum wage has been stuck at $7.25 since 2009. (read more) |

One CBS anchor could not contain her laughter as she interviewed a member of the Biden regime about a recent example of the administration's hypocrisy. TikTok and President Biden's bumbling, hypocritical appearance on the polarizing app were discussed during Margaret Brennan's interview with National Security Council strategic communications coordinator John Kirby on Sunday's episode of "Face the Nation." When Brennan continued, she was curious as to Biden's thoughts on the fact that TikTok is banned on many government devices for understandable security reasons, but Biden appears on the app whenever celebrities are involved. Brennan burst out laughing at Kirby's attempts at an explanation. (read more)

Further growth is anticipated for clean energy equities. According to the US Energy Information Administration, coal and natural gas-fired energy production in the US is expected to decline through at least 2024 due to new renewable energy sources (mainly wind and solar). This shift away from energy derived from fossil fuels sends a clear message to investors that clean energy will remain a significant source of capital inflows. In 2023, the combined contribution of wind and solar is anticipated to be 16% of all energy output. Of fact, the solar industry has expanded quickly. The good news for investors is that growth is anticipated to continue, with a predicted 84% increase in renewable energy capacity through 2024. Here are seven clean energy stocks worth a hard look right now. (read more) |

A Florida woman is wanted by law enforcement officials after relieving herself on lawns in a neighborhood on multiple occasions. Security camera footage in the area shows the woman dropping her pants and using the bathroom on lawns, as well as in foliage and bushes. She has been dubbed "The Squatter" by law enforcement and area residents. Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said the woman is guilty of trespassing, and they plan to bring her to justice. "We have trespassing. Not traditional trespassing," Judd said. "It involves a lady that's gone into a neighborhood on Lake Winterset. She's gone into the side yard, into the hedge area, and she's popped a squat and showed us her shiny rear end." Here's what else we know about the bizarre case, as well as how the internet is reacting to the news. (read more) |
