Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders gave a combative speech Tuesday evening in response to President Joe Biden's State of the Union address, drawing a sharp contrast with Biden as she delivered a series of blistering criticisms of the president. Sanders called Biden "unfit to serve as commander in chief," said his "weakness puts our nation and the world at risk," and described the political landscape in dire terms. "The dividing line in America is no longer between right or left. Instead, the choice is between normal or crazy," she said. Sanders highlighted a generational difference with Biden, saying, "At 40, I'm the youngest governor in the country, and at 80, he's the oldest president in American history." She also asserted in her speech that "it is time for a new generation of Republican leadership." The speech gave Sanders a major national platform to speak to the country and counter Biden after the president highlighted his priorities and agenda to the nation in his speech. (learn more) |

During his State of the Union address on Tuesday, President Joe Biden said that the economy was in such a bad place during the pandemic that cell phones and refrigerators had to be laid off. The walking gaffe made an appearance before both houses of Congress and boasted that his administration had created a strong economy. He promptly inserted his foot into his mouth. When describing the plight of unemployed phones and appliances, Biden was alluding to the worldwide chip shortage. Last year, economic headwinds hit the stock market like a wrecking ball, and the results were downright devastating for many investors. The S&P 500, the Dow Jones Industrial Average, and the Nasdaq Composite dropped into a bear market as Wall Street reacted to runaway inflation and rising interest rates. All three indexes suffered their sharpest declines since the financial crisis of 2008. Unfortunately, the situation may get worse before it gets better. Inflation is still hovering near a four-decade high, and central bank officials expect interest rates to continue climbing this year. Those forces could tip the U.S. economy into a recession, and that possibility will probably keep the stock market suppressed in the near term. However, patient investors can find solace in one undeniable truth: Every past bear market has eventually ended in a new bull market, and there is no reason to believe the current drawdown is anything out of the ordinary. A Florida woman made headlines recently for leading cops on a chase in a colorful bus meant to bring awareness to sex trafficking. The incident all started when 37-year-old Natalie Jade Jarvis walked into a Mandeville, Florida gas station while carrying a blowtorch. Jarvis said she was looking for the local Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS). Police were called since the situation seemed to be out of the ordinary, and cops eventually caught up with Jarvis near a Walmart. Jarvis was driving a bus that had been altered to live in that was sprayed with colorful graffiti.
Law enforcement attempted to stop Jarvis, but she refused. That's when a chase ensued. Here's how the pursuit ended.

Massachusetts mother Lindsay Clancy who strangled her three children before trying to take her own life appeared in court virtually from her hospital bed on Tuesday. Her attorneys revealed that she is now paralyzed from jumping out of a top floor window. Prosecutors say that the children's murders were premeditated, and that Clancy sent her husband out to pick up food to give her time to carry out the heinous crimes. However, Clancy's attorneys say that the mother was depressed and suffering with postpartum depression and psychosis. They say she was prescribed drugs that turned her into a "shell" of herself and robbed her of the ability to feel emotions.
