This week, we've recapped the biggest news stories of 2022 for you. But we also Skimm'd so much more in the last year. We answered some of your biggest wellness questions. We chatted with finance experts on how to navigate a wild economy. And we got real about all things parenting. Here's a look back at the year, Skimm'd.

🧘 In wellness…

The Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, putting women's health care in the spotlight. We covered the variety of reasons people choose to have an abortion (including some we don't talk about enough) and how the ruling could impact women's physical and mental health. Plus, a doctor told us why it can be so hard to diagnose endometriosis — and what to do if you're worried about it. Finally, we said 'hi' to gut talk on TikTok and 'bye' to the term "geriatric pregnancy." Because, it's 2022, and people can have healthy babies later in life.

💰 In money...

Restricting abortion access didn't just affect our health — it also affected our wallets. Amid stubbornly high inflation, Americans kept saying, 'the price is not right.' Particularly when it came to gas, groceries, and through-the-roof housing costs, which revived an age-old debate over whether to buy or rent. (For millennials trying to buy a house, the struggle is real.) Additionally, the inflation rates fueled another debate: Is the US headed for a recession? The answer's still TBD, but experts recommend taking these steps to be prepared. Worth noting: If you need more money for your emergency fund, here are four tips to find dollars and cents you might have forgotten about.

👶 In parenting...

After lockdowns and isolation, babies are once again socializing, which can make a difference in their growth and development. Kids and teens also started another school year, where some new cell phone policies had parents saying 'hold the phone.' Speaking of phones, experts also weighed in on parents posting photos and videos of their kiddos online (yes, they're cute — but it can be dangerous). Another trend: sittervising, aka sitting while supervising your kid. Regardless of whether you sit, stand, or do jumping jacks, keep an eye out for these signs that your child may be in distress.

📱 In life...

Just as late '90s and early '00s fashion made a comeback, a documentary explored how dark things really got behind-the-seams at Abercrombie & Fitch. Meanwhile, TikTok continued to take over our phones, which had us asking, 'How can we cash in on the app?' (Spoiler: Don't quit your day job.) That wasn't good for those already struggling with revenge bedtime procrastination — staying up late to make up for a lack of leisure time. We also got real about sexuality, and took a deeper look at how to confront weaponized incompetence…because nobody has time for that.

🎥 In video...

We brought you stories from around the world, including a 25-year-old who fled her home in Ukraine after Russia's invasion, and how the death of Mahsa Amini triggered months of anti-government protests in Iran. We shared the wide range of emotions and reactions following the ruling to overturn Roe v. Wade, and spoke to an abortion doula whose work will continue regardless of the decision. On a lighter note: We texted with Kendall and Kris about who they'd cast in a scripted version of "The Kardashians."

🎧 In podcasts...

We took you inside Kyiv during the early days of the Russia-Ukraine war, with on-the-ground reports from a veteran journalist. Closer to home, another veteran journalist shared how a historic #MeToo bill could change workplace safety. Plus, experts weighed in on everything from standing up against medical gaslighting to the very public FTX implosion to the renaissance of the word "hot."

Ready or not, here comes 2023. And with it, plenty of things to Skimm. Until then, that's a wrap.
