Inflation has already been painful. But it looks like it's getting ready to level up. Last week, Mansfield Energy (a major fuel supplier) raised a red flag that the impending diesel fuel shortage is poised to wreak havoc on our already stressed economy. "A tight diesel supply will force prices to go up, which will eventually make it too expensive for some people," the company said in a press release on Monday. "High prices will bring demand back down enough that it balances with limited supply." Here's why they say it's crucial that businesses and consumers plan instead of panic. (read more)

Listen, I can't say that I have any idea EXACTLY what happened on the night of Paul Pelosi's attack. But I can see that it sure doesn't seem like we're getting the whole story from anyone. And as long as there's a vacuum on those details, imaginations are going to be working overtime to fill the gaps. Like, why wasn't a security alarm triggered during the break-in? And how does someone in his underwear climb through the hole in the glass? Is my home's security really that much better than Nancy Pelosi's? (If so, that's a terrifying thought…) And how did Paul Pelosi know so much about his attacker when he called 911? There are a lot more questions than there are answers here. What do you think really happened? (read more)

Washington state has quickly become an election to keep an eye on. Based on predictions made by RealClearPolitics on Sunday, the U.S. The Washington Senate race went from "leans Democrat" to "toss-up." This comes after two polls showed that the Democratic incumbent Patty Murray and the Republican challenger Tiffany Smiley were tied. We've seen similar Democratic-leaning states on the west coast suddenly become "toss-up" races right before midterm elections. For example, Oregon could choose a Republican governor for the first time in 40 years. There are a lot of questions about the Democrats and their many failed policies. Especially among voters who haven't decided yet. (read more)

The Fed has increased interest rates aggressively this year, with the technology sector taking the worst hit. Since the year's beginning, tech stocks have experienced a significant sell-off due to worries about rising borrowing costs and weakening demand. As a result, the tech-heavy Nasdaq has lost close to 30% of its value so far this year. Pressure on tech equities increased as a result of the most recent poor third-quarter earnings and weak expectations from major tech companies. Except for one stock, all tech giants disappointed investors with weak results and dreary guidance last week. The tech industry's opportunities for growth and competitive advantage are guaranteed, given its growing importance in this digital era, even though the headwinds are anticipated to last for a while. Therefore, the current low prices of quality these tech stocks make them solid investments to capitalize on the industry's rosy long-term prospects. (read more) |

Halloween might be over for this year, but one woman is fighting to have decorations banned for next year. The woman, who has not been formally identified, posted on social media about wanting to ban decorations after a trip to a local business during Halloween left her "confused." According to the woman, she went to use the restroom at the business, but the establishment had a "keep out" sign on the toilets. She said she was unable to figure out if the toilets were in working order and if the Halloween decorations actually meant to keep out of the bathroom. She eventually left the business without doing business of her own, but took to social media to air her grievances out with the local establishment. Here's what she had to say. (read more) |

Toy Reid, who was part of the team that put together a US Senate report backing the lab leak theory regarding the origin of Covid in a Chinese lab, has uncovered documents from November 2019 containing cryptic messages about a "grave situation," "hidden dangers" and "severe consequences." These messages could provide new evidence that the lab was actually at the center of the virus leak that resulted in a global pandemic that killed millions of people. The report goes on to describe how a high-level Beijing official visited the lab with "important oral remarks and written instructions" from Xi Jinping and China's old premier, Li Keqiang just before Wuhan was overrun by the virus. Previous conspiracy theories regarding the origin of Covid were dismissed by most experts, largely due to the fact that they were associated with Donald Trump. However, in May 2021, Joe Biden ordered a full investigation into the origin of the Covid virus to determine if there was truth to the theory. Here's what Harvard scientist Dr. Alina Chan had to say about the likelihood that the virus was genetically engineered. (read more) |
