Democrats are "in great shape" for Election Day, according to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who maintains that polls that paint a negative picture of her party's prospects in the midterm elections are inaccurate. After surveys from The New York Times and Associated Press suggested the Republicans would make significant gains in the forthcoming elections, Pelosi made the remarks in an interview with Punchbowl News that was published on Wednesday. According to polls, Americans' top concerns are the economy and inflation, and they believe Republicans will handle these more effectively than Democrats. A pair of Wyoming college wrestlers were attacked by a grizzly bear recently. The wrestlers, Brady Lowry and Kendell Cummings, were hunting at the Shoshone National Forest with other teammates when they encountered the bear. The group of wrestlers had split up during the hunt, so Lowry and Cummings stuck together and hiked to higher ground. During their hike, they found evidence that a bear was nearby. Before they had time to retreat, a bear ran out of the woods and jumped on Lowry. Cummings jumped into action and tried to scare the bear away by yelling at it during the attack. He then grabbed the bear to try to pull it off of Lowry. This is what happened next. (read more) |

Forty-nine-year-old Michelle Roenz was found dead inside the trunk of her teenage son's car. Tyler Roenz, 17, was involved in a high-speed chase with police before crashing the car in Nebraska over the weekend. Both Michelle and Tyler had been reported missing from their home in Texas last Thursday by the boy's father, who called after he found a gruesome scene inside the house. The father said he found trails of blood-soaked carpet and human teeth in the home. When a trooper spotted a car matching the description of Roenz's, he attempted to pull it over, but Tyler refused. This resulted in the chase that reached speeds of more than 110 mph. Tyler Roenz was hospitalized after the crash.
