MD, PhD

Dr. Pop-Busui is a co-author of the "Peripheral and Autonomic Neuropathy in Diabetes" chapter in the NIDDK publication Diabetes in America, 3rd Edition. Her research focuses on diabetes complications, particularly peripheral neuropathy and cardiovascular autonomic neuropathy. She is president-elect of medicine and science at the American Diabetes Association. She was a co-principal investigator of the NIDDK-funded Diabetes Control and Complications Trial (DCCT) and Epidemiology of Diabetes Interventions and Complications (EDIC) study.
