The search for a family of four that have been missing since Monday ended in tragedy. The California family was kidnapped earlier this week and their bodies were all found in a rural farm area. "Tonight, our worst fears have been confirmed," Merced County Sheriff Vern Warnke said during a news conference Wednesday night. "Horribly, horribly senseless what happened here." A "person of interest" has been taken into custody. What do we know about the man any any possible motivations behind the kidnapping and murders? (read more) |

More than 700,000 borrowers were abruptly removed from President Biden's $400 billion student loan handout, which some claim was intended specifically to make it more difficult for critics of the scheme to sue to have it overturned. The loan forgiveness program would only be available to debtors who consolidated their obligations under the Department of Education, according to officials shortly after Biden's policy was revealed. Because their loans are still being administered by private entities, as a result of the last-minute alteration, more than 700,000 debtors are no longer eligible for the payout. Nebraska and five other states filed a lawsuit just before the move was made, claiming that the handout would have a negative impact on their finances. It's clear that Biden is trying to circumvent the court system to push yet another agenda item. (read more) |

Only the energy sector of the stock market has avoided losses in 2022. The price of oil has just fallen and is on the verge of giving up its gains for the year, so even that might not persist. In this challenging market, no investor is immune from subpar performance, regardless of skill level. However, no one has suffered as much as investors in technology equities. The leader of ARK Investment Management, Cathie Wood, is in charge of seven exchange-traded funds (ETFs), including the company's flagship ARK Innovation ETF. Given that the ARK Innovation ETF has lost a staggering 60% of its value so far this year, Wood is the embodiment of long-term investments in innovation and the losses that go along with them. However, like all stock market declines, this one will eventually recover given enough time. The key is to focus on which stocks could produce the greatest returns on the way back up. Based on ARK's projections through 2026, this stock could be set for a significant upside. (read more) |

| A woman and her doctors were perplexed when she came to the hospital with severe abdominal pain, but they could not find her appendix on any scans. The woman, identified only as Ciara, said she experienced excruciating pain on her right side that led her to believe she needed to get her appendix removed. But while she was undergoing a serious of imaging scans and tests, doctors revealed to her that they couldn't find her appendix. "I was like, where is it?! Why aren't we more concerned about that," Ciara recalled asking the doctors. And while someone who has never had their appendix removed having a CT scan that doesn't show one is quite bizarre, the way doctors reacted to the entire ordeal was a bit surprising. (read more) |

Harry Potter author JK Rowling took a hit at celebrities who backed a transgender children's charity. Emma Watson, an actress in the film franchise, is among those celebrities. Rowling's criticism of the charity comes after trustee Dr. Jacob Breslow quit after speaking at a conference that was hosted by an organization that promotes services to pedophiles. In a series of tweets, Rowling said, "We've now learned that Mermaids appointed a paedophilia apologist as Trustee and that their online moderator encouraged kids to move onto a platform notorious for sexual exploitation. This is a charity that's achieved unprecedented influence in the UK." She went on to write, "They couldn't have achieved it without the money and public support of certain corporations and celebrities, who eagerly boosted them even though the red flags have been there for years. Mermaids' fingers were all over the Tavistock Gender Identity Clinic debacle. Here's some other influential people who have supported the charity. (read more) |
