More than 40 books have now been banned from classrooms and libraries in the Keller Independent School District. This district is just outside of the Fort Worth, Texas area. And one of those newly banned books was the Bible. "All of the books included in Tuesday's email have been included on Keller ISD's Book Challenge list over the past year. Books that meet the new guidelines will be returned to the libraries as soon as it is confirmed they comply with the new policy." So what other books got banned and what are these new guidelines reading will have to meet? Students were slated to start school on Wednesday of this week, but before they got back, an email sent out started making a lot of waves. (read more) |

If you thought President Biden was against walls and fences, you'd only be right if you were talking about our southern border. Because when it comes to the Bidens' Delaware beach house, he's not sparing any expense. According to Fox News, "The DHS contract with Turnstone Holdings LLC for the "purchase and installation of security fencing" at the residence has since increased to $490,324 this summer, according to the website USAspending.gov, an online database of federal government spending." He's headed back to his $2.7 million summer home on Saturday. How much more expensive will this fence get before construction is slated to end in June of 2023? (read more) |

President Biden is returning to his multimillion-dollar beach residence in his home state of Delaware after spending most of his summer vacation on Kiawah Island in South Carolina. He is constructing a taxpayer-funded security fence at a cost that has risen to about $500,000 at his Delaware location. Biden had spent the previous two nights in Wilmington, Delaware, and is scheduled to arrive to his $2.7 million summer home in the North Shores neighborhood of Rehoboth Beach on Saturday. A Sussex County business received a $456,548 award from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in September 2021 to build a security fence around the residence. So, while we aren't getting a border wall, at least we're paying for a fancy fence at the president's private residence. (read more) |

Who wouldn't want to purchase undervalued securities? To buy expensive stocks on purpose would be foolish. Value is, of course, in the eye of the beholder, much like beauty. The adage "Price is what you pay. Value is what you get" is one of Warren Buffett's most famous quotes. Over the years, Buffett has become more open to paying a fair value for stock rather than a deep discount, an ideology he first learned from Ben Graham in the 1950s. Then, Buffett's right-hand man, Charlie Munger, convinced him that sometimes paying a premium for a quality company made sense. Everyone's version of undervalued is slightly different. So here are 7 undervalued stocks for you to consider. (read more) |

A restaurant says it is done catering to vegans and no longer welcomes them in the establishment. The restaurant has since pulled all vegan options off of the menu. According to the owners of the eating spot, the sudden change of course and vegan-less menu was brought about due to the "holier-than-thou" attitude of most vegans they used to serve. The owners said they were fed up with "arrogant" vegans and no longer wanted them as customers. They received fierce backlash online due to the comments, but the owners said the criticism just proved their point and confirmed they made the right decision. So, which restaurant made this decision? And what is it about vegans that left such a bad impression on the restaurant's owners? (read more) |

Twenty-two-year-old Adam Simjee of Apopka, Florida, was traveling with his girlfriend, Mikayla Paulus, when the unthinkable happened. The couple was driving through Talladega National Forest around 11:30 a.m. on August 14 when they were flagged down by what seemed to be a stranded woman. The woman, later identified as Yasmine Hider, asked the couple for assistance to get her car started. Officials say that when they attempted to help her, she showed them a gun and forced them into the woods. Once in the woods, Simjee revealed he was also armed and he and the stranger exchanged gunfire and both individuals were struck. Paulus was able to call 911 and performed CPR on Simjee while they waited for help, but he unfortunately died at the scene. Here's what happened when police arrived and what Paulus has said concerning the tragic incident. (read more) |
