Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp has defeated challenger David Perdue in his primary, a major blow for former President Donald Trump.
Trump recruited and endorsed Perdue, and he spent time and money on the state in an effort to unseat Kemp, who refused Trump's pressure to not certify the results of the election in 2020, when President Joe Biden beat Trump narrowly in Georgia.
Kemp had 73 percent to Perdue's 22 percent when the Associated Press called the primary. See here for full information.
