There's a Thomas Jefferson quote inscribed on a stepping stone just outside of Joel Salatin's home. It reads, "No occupation is so delightful to me as the culture of the earth." Being the city slicker I am, I snapped a shot of it with my iPhone the first time we visited Joel. The team was there several years ago to convince him to join Manward's mission as a contributor. There is a true respect for the land and all the ideas that seem to grow out of it. Even the cows seem grateful to be there. They approached us curiously as we strolled through the field where they were grazing, as if to say, "Oh, you guys are with Joel? You must be alright." It's truly a magical place.
