Fallon/AFP via Getty Images A nonprofit group that helped relocate Afghan refugees in the U.S. is launching a new effort to recruit 100,000 American residents to sponsor Ukrainian refugees, Axios' Russell Contreras reports. - The Biden administration announced today the Uniting for Ukraine program, which will allow Ukrainian citizens to apply for humanitarian parole.
- Welcome.US is spearheading the sponsor recruitment, funded primarily by $3.6 million from the Goldman Sachs Gives fund.
What's next: Americans interested in sponsoring a Ukrainian family can sign up at ukraine.welcome.us beginning Monday. - Sponsors can offer temporary hosting through Airbnb or donate to Airbnb to help cover temporary housing costs.
