Pamela Kadakia, the former equity project manager for the California Department of Education, was dismissed of her duties last week after it was discovered that she and her husband actually live in Dallas.
In a letter to the media, the California Department of Education verified Kadakia's departure, saying that her employment violated a state rule requiring public employees to live in the state.
Due to a recently implemented travel prohibition on specific states, Kadakia's contentious work-life issue was exacerbated by the fact that she lived in a place where California workers are not even permitted to go in an official capacity.
Kadakia isn't the only California official to lose her employment due to her out-of-state residence. Her employer, Daniel Lee, had to quit earlier in December after it was determined that he lived in Pennsylvania.
