When things are heating up at home, it can be good to look outside to other opportunities around the globe.

Of course, emerging markets are an entirely different world (literally), but the fundamentals still apply... and investments in these areas can be a quick way to grow your account.

You just have to do your due diligence and know where to get the right information...

While I will always actively trade the U.S. market, I've been watching countries in places like South America and Asia as the relationships between nations have only been growing...

And I believe India deserves a closer look, especially when it comes to the revolution in energy.

As someone whose travel schedule and connections put him in the thick of international relations - particularly in the energy sector - Dr. Moors' has the scoop on what to watch for...

Don't skip this one.

WORD ON THE STREET
Jerome on Deck, Gas Semi Guzzlers, Banking on BTC

  • Jackson Hole Meeting on Watch - All eyes will be on the 2021 annual Economic Policy Symposium after last week's Fed minutes revealed a certain level of indecision. Although officials won't be meeting in person, the meeting scheduled to begin Thursday, August 26th will have many investors white-knuckling and waiting for a more definitive timeline from Fed Chair Jerome Powell. Many experts believe that it will undoubtedly begin this year causing investors to worry as higher interest rates could hurt growth in equities. Alright, so go to cash on Thursday?

  • "That thing got a semi?" - With the world running low on microchips, youngsters will finally get a glimpse of what Mom and Dad went through during the Great Gas Shortage of the 1970s, only this time it's semiconductors. According to Barron's, the global chip shortage has created lower inventories in both new and used vehicles while inflating prices during a time where chip-reliant electric vehicles are in higher demand, leading to lines at dealerships. Guess it's back to gas guzzlers, folks... or just buy every semiconductor stock.
  • Big Banks Making Crypto Moves - A new report from Coindesk revealed that wealthy investors at major banks Wells Fargo (WFC) and Bank of America (BAC) are now able to hop into the digital bull market. With Bank of America officially permitting clients to trade Bitcoin as of July, the move by Wells Fargo to establish a wholly-owned Bitcoin fund could signal a trend to follow among other large banking institutions, potentially creating a bullish rise in the financial sector. Is this banking's way of becoming "hip" again? Probably not, but it's a start.

  • FULL APPROVAL - The latest vaccine news that has investors running for the buy button was announced early Monday morning when the FDA granted full approval to Pfizer (PFE) and BioNTech (BNTX) in their joint vaccine effort. The announcement comes after many Americans have opted to wait as the vaccine had only been released to the public under an EUA (emergency use authorization). This makes the vaccine the first to gain full approval.

HOT SPOTS: What's Going on in Geopolitics

  • ISIS In Afghanistan? - National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan warned that the Islamic State is regrouping in Afghanistan, as the United States pulls out of the country. Thousands of Americans are still trapped as the evacuation effort continues. However, it's by no means clear the Islamic State and the Taliban are allies - the two groups have had deadly confrontations with each other in the past.

  • "We Are NOT Amused" - Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle have apparently pushed the Queen too far. The monarchy is reportedly consulting libel experts in preparation for the couple's upcoming memoir, which is expected to make some explosive charges against the royal family. A supposedly well-placed source (perhaps a leak planned by the royals themselves) said that the Queen is "exasperated" by the constant attacks.

  • Israel Bombs Gaza - Israel may have a new government, but there's no way out of the seeming constant clashes with Gaza. Driven by attacks on its perimeter fence, Israel bombed the the territory early Sunday. Both sides took casualties in the recent clash. Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said the military is ready for "any scenario."
CUTTING EDGE: What's Happening In Tech

  • State Department Hit By Cyber Attack - The government itself is now the latest target of cybercriminals. The United States State Department was recently hit by a cyber attack. The U.S. Department of Defense Cyber Command was notified of a possibly serious breach. A spokesperson said "we are not in a position to discuss the nature or scope of any alleged cybersecurity incidents at this time."

  • No Wonder Jeff Bezos Was So Angry - In the weeks after SpaceX won the contract for the lunar rover from NASA, a decision now paused by a court challenge, Jeff Bezos's Blue Origin lost at least 17 top staffers. In what must have been an especially cruel blow, one of the top engineers allegedly joined Elon Musk's team instead. Blue Origin recently paid its employees a bonus of $10,000 after Bezos successfully returned from his recent outer space adventure. Perhaps that wasn't just a celebratory paycheck, but a means to keep more people from leaving.

  • Romanian Office Features High-Tech Anti Virus Gear - H3, a building in Romania designed to be a model of new anti-virus design, features hands free doors, self-cleaning surfaces, antimicrobial paint, air monitors, UV light robots, and other gadgets. Employees are also continuously monitored for high temperatures, with "immune stewards" ready to escort away anyone who might be sick. I think I'll just stick to the Zoom meetings instead.

FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION

"Despite combatting a debilitating rise in COVID infections, the government there has announced it will exceed the goals set in Paris by 50 percent and three years ahead of schedule."

America is struggling to re-enter the Paris Climate Accords, let alone meet its targets. However, India looks set not only to meet its goals, but exceed them. Is there an opportunity here for global investors? Energy expert Dr. Kent Moors breaks down what's shaking investors worldwide.
