Changing futures: preventing, identifying and responding to harmful sexual behaviours in children

by the Daniel Morcombe Foundation

This workshop is focused on providing frontline professionals with a critical introduction to the topic of harmful sexual behaviours (HSB). It will look to define and contextualise HSB whilst expanding professionals' current skills and competency to be able to prevent, identify and respond in a holistic, strengths-based manner.

Participants will have the opportunity to engage in activities and discussions, to access resources, and to network with other professionals.

What you will learn
  • Defining and contextualising harmful sexual behaviour.
  • Understanding differences between developmentally appropriate sexual behaviours and those that cause concern.
  • Responding to sexualised behaviours.
  • Basic strategies for addressing harmful sexual behaviours in a holistic, strengths-based manner.
  • What to do next – how to manage harmful sexual behaviours.

Online and in all Australian capital cities.
The training runs for 4.5 hours in-person or via an online platform.
 
 



Members can claim CPD hours for their participation.
