Landlords and their retail tenants have developed relationships during the pandemic that go far beyond the monthly rent check. Mall owners now hold stakes in struggling brands like Brooks Brothers and Forever 21, and landlords are investing in new retailers to fill a growing number of vacant storefronts. But what happens when landlords get into the fashion game? Cathaleen Chen spoke with parties on both sides of these deals. Elsewhere, Tim Blanks talks to Alessandro Michele about GucciFest and his desire to transcend "the old world" before the pandemic.
