S is For Self-Sufficient (but K is for…?) ✔️ Tedious, ill-phrased, and naive … but never THIS. ✔️ Why lazy questions are your kryptonite… ✔️ How you do ONE thing, is how you do... "I've never had a real job..." I haven't had a real job… EVER. I got started as a work from home trader back in the 1990s (before it was cool). Because I found one simple pattern that showed up on my computer screen every week.  One I still trade TODAY. It's made me millions of dollars. I love my job. Being a teacher is more gratifying than I ever imagined.  And I love that so many people want to learn about trading. Especially penny stocks, which Wall Street considers the gutter of the stock market. But my life is crazy. I don't have time to answer questions I get via email.  My day is filled with trading, making video lessons, and working on my next book. In between, I plan with my team. When the market closes, I focus on my charities. Just before a pass out from exhaustion, I make a watchlist for students.  Again, I'm not complaining. I love my life. But some of the questions…   There's No Such Thing as a Dumb Question  I think Carl Sagan (the brilliant and famous planetary scientist) said it. But that's only part of the quote. He also mentioned tedious and naive questions.  I want to add one to the mix, because it happens too often…  Lazy questions. Lazy questions make you weak. If your goal is to plaster your chest with a big S for self-sufficient … Lazy questions are like kryptonite. They slow down your learning.  They make me wonder about a student's level of dedication and determination. Especially when I've answered the question hundreds of times before.  It's easier than ever to access information. Everything you need to learn to become a self-sufficient trader is at your fingertips.  Is Learning too Easy?   When I was in high school, I skipped class to use the computers in the library. The internet there was MUCH faster than at home.  Sometimes I'd use three computers at a time. I wanted information and I was determined to get it. I was hungry. Nothing could stop me.  It seems surreal now. I've always worked harder than anyone around me because I knew it would pay off.  The amount of information you can get on the internet today is crazy. You can learn complex subjects from your laptop. There are amazing tools and apps available.  So it blows my mind when someone asks me a super basic question.  No question is a dumb question. But lazy questions make me sad. Not for me — for the person asking.
