ICC 'not welcome' if it pushes drug war probe


The Appeals Chamber of the International Criminal Court (ICC) voted 3-2 on Tuesday to reject the Philippine government's appeal to stop the ICC Prosecutor's investigation into the country's drug war on the watch of then President Rodrigo Duterte.

Marcos hopes DU30 Xi talked about WPS


President Marcos on Tuesday said he hoped former President Rodrigo Duterte raised the matter of Chinese vessels shadowing Philippine ships in the West Philippine Sea (WPS) during the latter's unannounced meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing on Monday.

Mayon evacuees face water woes


LEGAZPI CITY -- Residents of towns and cities of Albay who have been relocated to evacuation centers since early June due to the heightened unrest by Mayon Volcano have to deal with inadequate water supply in the shelters, prompting some of them to regularly return to their houses in the permanent danger zone to bathe or wash their clothes. At least 12,000 liters of clean water are sent every other day to various centers in Albay but displaced residents said the supply was not enough for their needs.
