Megaworld to open Mactan convention center in 2025


Billionaire Andrew Tan-led Megaworld Corp. is building a P1.5-billion convention center in Cebu with a target to open the facility by 2025. The developer said Mactan Expo Center, located within its 30-hectare The Mactan Newton township in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, would start construction within the year.

The Board of Investments (BOI) on Tuesday said it approved P698 billion worth of investments during the first half of the year, growing its portfolio by more than two-folds during the period owing to the surge of overseas financing for projects in the renewable energy sector.

Full blast on GStocks PH


The Philippine Stock Exchange, mobile wallet GCash and AB Capital Securities are preparing for the full rollout of GStocks PH nearly a year after it was first announced. PSE president Ramon Monzon said they were hoping to go "full blast" on GStocks PH, which allows the trading of Philippine-listed stocks via the GCash app, by August this year.

Astra Tech, a consumer technology company based in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), is investing in a Philippine financing company to develop banking products for Filipinos based in the Middle East.
