Alabama running back Jahmyr Gibbs was selected by the Detroit Lions with the No. 12 pick after they effectively traded down from No. 6 overall with the Arizona Cardinals. Due to the potential other players have displayed by moving down in the draft, organizations have recently been less likely to take running backs in the first round. In contrast, two running backs entered the Top 12 after Gibbs was chosen, with Bijan Robinson going to the Atlanta Falcons at position No. 8. But that was not the cause of the confusion on social media. (read more) |

A Utah judge is considering a request from Planned Parenthood to delay a statewide ban on abortion clinics. The controversial ban is currently set to take effect next week. Planned Parenthood officials argue the ban will end access to abortion statewide because the new law does not allow the clinics to apply for the necessary licenses to operate. "Women will be forced to carry pregnancies to term against their will; to remain pregnant until they can travel out of state to access this critical, time-sensitive medical care ... or to attempt to self-manage their abortions outside the medical system," Planned Parenthood outlined in its motion to delay the ban. Here's what else we know about the legal battle unfolding in Utah. (read more) |

Attempting damage control, the Associated Press published a piece on Friday that criticized Republicans for their "exploitation" of the rhetorical precedent set by the American left over what constitutes an insurrection. Earlier this month, the Washington Post made a similar attempt, condemning any similarities between the Capitol riot of January 6, 2021, and the various Democratic attacks on legislatures since then. The portrayal of the riot on January 6 was utilized effectively for a long time, especially to justify harsher punishments for protestors, internet censorship, and the prevention of Republicans from holding, seeking, or remaining in government. The democratic process has been held hostage in recent months as radical Democrats and others have stormed state capitols around the country.
As astute onlookers have pointed out, these instances bear striking resemblance to the 2021 episode that the media continues to call an "insurrection," but liberals have attempted to shift the linguistic goalposts to avoid responsibility. (read more) | |

From Today's Sponsored Advertiser: | | | | Earlier this year, the U.S. endured the second-largest bank failure in its 246-year history. One of the most significant sectors for our economy's growth is the IT sector, which did see greater losses in 2022 than anticipated. However, the stock market appears to be preparing for an excellent rest of the year as the market is gathering up speed and businesses are reporting better-than-expected profits. Moreover, savvy investors know that certain businesses have established themselves as pillars of the American technology sector. Investing in those long-term tech stocks guarantees steady growth and dividends. The IT corporations we are discussing are the firms that support other businesses. They provide goods and services that are necessary for both consumers and business owners, which guarantees that they will continue to make money. Therefore, it's critical to keep an eye on the big picture and resist the need for quick results. Long-term profits for buy-and-hold investors are frequently outstanding, but the key is to add the correct equities to your portfolio. Here are the three best firms to invest in for the long run before they soar if you're seeking reliable tech stocks to buy and hold. (read more) |

An unruly passenger on a United Airlines flight caused quite the scene recently. The plane was en-route to Tel Aviv in Israel from Newark, New Jersey, and had been in the air for a few hours when the incident occurred. Witnesses say the man wanted to use the bathroom, but since it was occupied, he had to wait. But the man chose to wait in a seat that is reserved for flight crew members only. Passengers say a flight attendant raised their voice at the man, and he responded in a like manner. The man was told to vacate the seat or the flight would turn around. But the man didn't believe the flight attendant and he continued to occupy the restricted seat. That's when the plane turned around and headed back to Newark. Here's what happened when the plane landed. (read more) |
